Damn you Ian, making me actually type something.

Well, I've now been pressured into writing something by Ian. So here goes with some off the top of my head ramblings...

Christmas TV was crap again wasn't it? The highlight, as usual are the repeats of Only Fools & Horses from 20 years ago. And they call digital TV and Sky TV "progress"??? My ar*e!

Speaking of slagging off TV, an excellent documentary was on last week about how the British sitcom has been killed off over the last few years. I didn't actually realise it until I watched it, but it's true. There are no memorable sitcoms on TV anymore. Even the Office was just depressing. Th en again other people disagree. Maybe I just can't comprehend modern sitcoms.

I had an interest time one evening between Christmas and New Year. I was home alone waiting for Wendy and Ben to get back from Wendy's sisters one evening when I heard an almighty "Yooou C****nts" from somewhere outside. I went outside to investigate in case some nutter was starting on Wendy and Ben, but no-one was around. Moments later Wendy's car pulled up. I walked towards her car and stopped, a rustling noise was coming from behind me, the other side of our side-gate. As I got back to the gate it opened and 3 teenagers saw me and froze. Apparently they were being chased by nutters. But incredibly seemed quite happy to stand there talking to me instead of getting a head start on them if they were following. Anyway, after seeing them on their way I decided to make a couple of "improvements" to the back garden. I doubt they'll come through my garden again. Ha Ha.

Before I go I thought I'd share the Happy New Year text message I received from my own Dad... "Happy New Year, Ben & family". Impressively, after 25 years, I've been relegated to part of the rather vague collective term "family".

Happy New Year, people.

Man Tame Fire!

I spent yesterday at a London Territorial Army base (Infantry division) being trained as a Fire Warden. Quite apart from being a fascinating morning, I learnt something very interesting... it's possible to start a fire by taking a scouring pad (the ones you use for washing up) and touching it simultaneously to the + and - terminals of a square battery! The teacher showed us how it's done. It looked like loads of fun.

In fact, I may well remove the 9v battery from my smoke alarm at home so I can try it myself tonight.

Testing, testing, 1-2-3, Mary had a little Lamb? Ah, f*ck it!

Well, I see both Scott and Ian have started to write their own type-y jobbies now, so I thought it was about time I joined the 20th Century and join in, at least until I get too bored and give up. Seeing as it's only you two even half likely to look at this, I won't bother being polite.

Expect to see the occassional rant about just about everything generally.
